The project to repair and renew the corrosion protection system in portico cranes of Navantia Puerto Real received an international award for infrastructure projects from SSPC, The Society for Protective Coatings. This international award is given to the best projects of the year, evaluated by SSPC, a prestigious association in coating protection in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

SSPC has valued the complexity of a project that consisted mainly in the surface preparation through different methods, among which water jetting stands out, through automatic robots working at a height of 120m and the coating application by workers qualified to work at Rope Access height.

The project focused on high quality standards that were supervised during the whole process, along with control of the product and accelerated deterioration tests on test tubes that guarantee the quality and durability of the protection system in the long-term.
